The Cape Elizabeth Capers JV team fell to Yarmouth JV in the playoff semi-final at Casco Bay Arena on Friday night. Yarmouth's Dom Morrill had a hat trick, including two second period power play goals, to send Yarmouth into the championship next Friday.

After Morrill gave Yarmouth the 1-0 lead through the first period, Max Woods would give the Capers life by collecting a Jesse Eubanks feed and rifling it past Yarmouth goaltender Greg Kamra. The Capers appeared to take a 2-1 lead midway through the second when Evan Concannon banged home a loose rebound only to see the goal controversially overturned due to a high stick.

The Capers would not be able to fine their footing again in a game that saw 30 penalty minutes (the equivalent of 46 varsity penalty minutes) with Reece Hall finishing the scoring for Yarmouth midway through the third period. Despite pulling their goalie just inside of 5 minutes remaining and having a 1:30 5-on-3 the Capers were not able to solve Kamra.

Cape Elizabeth will play in the consolation game next week, with date and time to be determined.

We’re proud of the fact that we had a tough season, but we still showed up for the playoffs. We did a good job, but we ran into a very good hockey team. The York Wildcats are as good as advertised and as a result, the defending regional champion Motormouth Clippers are going home.

So, you have a job offer and it meets all of your criteria - benefits, salary, requirements, roles, expectations etc. but for some internal reason it just doesn't feel right. You consider - I could do worse or what's the worst that could happen - I can handle that.

It was such a great game! It's a pity I've missed it. I am a big hockey fan, actually.
